Expensly ("we," "us," or "our") is a personal finance and budgeting app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices — in plain language.
Expensly is a personal finance app for UAE and Saudi Arabia. When you sign in, your expenses, budgets, and profile sync to your account via Supabase. A local copy is also kept on your device for fast access and offline use.
Demo mode uses sample data on your device only. It does not create an account or sync anywhere.
When you create an account, we store your email address and sync your app data (expenses, budgets, profile, settings, and preferences) to our database provider (Supabase) so you can back up and restore data. We do not sell this information.
The app stores expenses, budgets, income and lifestyle preferences, app settings, and optional receipt photos on your device using local storage. If you enable Face ID or passcode lock, access is protected by your device security.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your expense data for advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not read your bank SMS messages directly — optional Bank SMS shortcuts are configured by you in the Apple Shortcuts app on your device.
You can permanently delete your account in Settings → Delete account. This removes your sign-in credentials, cloud backup, and local app data on this device. This cannot be undone. Apple subscriptions must be cancelled separately in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We receive subscription status from Apple to unlock Plus features. We do not receive your full payment card details for the subscription itself.
When bank sync launches, connecting a bank will use a regulated open-banking partner (Lean Technologies). Only the data required to import transactions will be requested, and connection will be read-only. Bank linking and card bill pay are not active in the current App Store release.
If you use the Zakat calculator, your asset and liability inputs are stored in your account like other app data. We do not share this with third parties except as needed for cloud backup (Supabase). Metal prices for nisab are fetched via our server; we do not use AI to compute Zakat amounts.
If you attach a receipt photo to an expense, the image stays on your device unless you export or share it yourself. If you enable spending alerts, notifications are generated on your device based on your budgets and spending activity.
The app is not directed at children under 13. We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Expensly helps you track spending, set budgets, and review forecasts for users in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
Manual tracking and email import are free. Expensly Plus adds Bank SMS auto-log and Shopping Alert via iOS Shortcuts. Automatic bank sync and card bill pay are labeled “coming soon” and are not part of the current release.
Budget suggestions, forecasts, and Zakat estimates are informational only. The app does not provide investment, tax, or legal advice.
The Zakat calculator provides an educational estimate based on common methodologies (2.5% on net zakatable wealth above nisab). Expensly is not a Zakat authority and does not collect Zakat. Consult a qualified scholar and use official platforms (e.g. NPZ, Zakaty) for payment and rulings.
Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID. A 7-day free trial may be offered to eligible new subscribers through the App Store. After the trial, your chosen plan renews unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends via iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting your Expensly account does not cancel your Apple subscription.
Displayed prices: AED 19.99/month or AED 199.99/year in UAE; SAR 19.99/month or SAR 199.99/year in Saudi Arabia (save ~40 vs monthly). Prices are set in App Store Connect and may vary by region. Subscription product IDs: plus_monthly, plus_annual.
Manual expense entry, budgets, forecasts, PDF export, Face ID lock, Home Screen shortcuts, Quick Check, Zakat calculator, and paste-from-email import remain available without Plus. A free account is required for cloud backup and sync. You may use Demo mode to explore the app with sample data on your device only.
You are responsible for the accuracy of data you enter and for keeping your device secure. Optional shortcuts you create may read content you choose to share with Shortcuts. You may delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete account.
