Is Expensly free?
Yes, Expensly is free to download, and adding expenses by hand, budgets, savings goals and safe-to-spend are always free. Premium adds automatic logging and the AI Coach, with a 7-day free trial.
How do purchases log themselves?
On iPhone, a Shortcuts automation that you set up once passes your bank's purchase texts or Apple Pay taps to Expensly. You can also double-tap the back of your phone or press the Action Button to log a purchase from your bank's notification. On Android, you turn on SMS and notification access once. Do I need to give Expensly my bank login?
No. Expensly never asks for your online banking password and never connects to your bank account. It only uses the purchase alerts already on your phone.
Does Expensly read my personal messages?
No. On iPhone, only messages that match your bank's word are passed to Expensly. On Android, Expensly only keeps purchase alerts from banks. Personal messages are ignored and never stored.
Which countries and currencies does it support?
Expensly works in any country, with 150+ currencies including 3-decimal dinars, and numbers written the way your country writes them. It reads bank messages in English and Arabic.

How much does Premium cost?
Premium is billed monthly or yearly in your local currency through the App Store or Google Play, and the exact price shows in the app before you confirm. New subscribers get a 7-day free trial. Yearly costs less than monthly.
How do I cancel Premium?
On iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Expensly. On Android: Google Play, Payments and subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
Is my data safe?
Your expenses sync to your account so they're backed up across devices. You can lock the app with Face ID. Expensly has no ads and never sells your data. You can delete your account and data from the app at any time.
Will the same purchase be logged twice?
No. If a bank SMS, a notification and an Apple Pay tap describe the same purchase, Expensly keeps one expense.
Can I track cash spending?
Yes. Add cash in two taps with the quick keypad, or type something like "taxi 30" in the quick chat and it lands in Transport.
Can I import past transactions?
Yes. You can paste bank messages, or import a bank statement to fill in purchases from before you started.
